While we were in Janos Koolen's studio earlier this year working on our fifth album (no title yet - but it will contain a lot of Scottish traditionals!), Sophie had just written a song for the yearly Christmas album of the label she's with, Revanche Records. And we thought: why don't we record one of the Christmas songs we do and see if the label would like to add one of those to their album too? We chose this song since it's not very famous in the Netherlands and it's a great one to sing at a concert, because everyone can join in easily. It's a gospel song that was first recorded on a plantation in the US. As with many of the songs we sing, it's not clear who wrote it. We are very thankful to all the people who sang this before us so we get to sing it now!
